BEAN DROP 01 – LETHAL WEAPON: BRAZIL LUIZ PAULO DIAS

At Steam Brothers Coffee, we’re excited to introduce our curated selection of single-origin coffees; a celebration of terroir, craftsmanship, and the stories behind every bean.

Single-origin coffee means each bag comes from a specific farm, region, or cooperative, rather than a blend of beans from multiple sources. This approach allows us to showcase the unique characteristics that define each coffee’s flavour profile, processing method, and the people who grew it. When you choose a single origin, you’re not just buying coffee; you’re connecting directly to its source.

The first coffee in the spotlight is none other than our Brazil Luiz Paulo Dias, which we thought was worthy of the Lethal Weapon title.

Lethal Weapon: Brazil Luiz Paulo Dias Ama Geisha

SO DAMN GOOD, IT COULD GET LETHAL

Some geisha's play it safe. This one kicks the door in.

Lethal Weapon comes from the Ama Geisha Project in Carmo de Minas, Brazil, where producer Luiz Paulo Dias Pereira Filho is pushing the boundaries of what Brazilian coffee can be. While Brazil is known for its chocolatey, nut-forward coffees, this Geisha lot takes things in a completely different direction.

The Ama Geisha Project is the result of years of experimentation, bringing together world-class farming, meticulous processing, and one of the most celebrated coffee varieties on the planet. The goal? To uncover a side of Brazil that most coffee drinkers have never tasted.

This lot is naturally processed, with the coffee cherries dried intact before milling. The result is a cup that’s packed with sweetness and fruit character, while still maintaining the clarity and elegance Geisha is famous for.

In the cup, expect florals straight out of the gate. Jasmine and rose lead the charge, followed by juicy peach, apricot, and pineapple sweetness. It’s vibrant, expressive, and ridiculously moreish.

Tasting notes

  • Jasmine
  • Rose
  • Peach
  • Apricot
  • Pineapple
  • Creamy sweetness

We called it Lethal Weapon because subtlety isn’t really its thing.

It’s a geisha that reminds us why we chase great lots in the first place. Unexpected, memorable, and a little bit dangerous once you realise how quickly you’re going through the bag.
