We get asked it at the bar every week: how far does a bag actually go? So we ran the numbers.
Start with the dose
A double shot takes generally 18g of ground coffee. A kilo divided by 18g gives you 55 doubles, or a couple fewer while you're dialling in a fresh bag. If you're on plunger or pour over, it's around 15g a cup, which stretches a kilo to about 66.
